Styles panel
The map decoration panel. Configures visual rules that control how elements and connections look on a map.
What it controls
- Colour by — colour elements by a property value
- Size by — size elements by a numeric property
- Shape by — change element shape by a property value
- Opacity by — vary element opacity by a property value
- Label rules — control what text appears on elements and connections
- Connection style rules — set line style (curved/straight/elbow), arrowheads, and colour for connections, driven by relation properties
All rules are driven by the project’s property model — any property can be the input to any rule.
Relation to map layout
The Styles panel configures decoration — how things look. Map layout (Freedom, Grouped, force-directed, timeline, etc.) is a separate concern — how things are arranged. Both are part of the map configuration but are independent.
One view per map
A map has one visual configuration (one set of Styles panel rules). Logos does not have a multi-view system per map — the Styles panel defines the single visual layer for that map.
Equivalent
Kumu’s Decorate panel. Same concept — visual rules driven by field values — but in logos the field source is logos properties rather than Kumu fields.
